Mobile contract name different to direct debit query ..

Hello, my 18 year old daughter has just been refused a mobile contract in her name as she has no credit history.

We deliberately wanted to set it up in her name as she needs 2 direct debits a month coming out of her new 123 bank account.

Does anyone know if I can take on the contract in my name but set up the direct debit in hers?

Many thanks

Yes, you can - with her approval.

I doubt that is the sole reason. Most folk use a mobile as their first item to their credit history. Is she on the electoral roll?

Assuming she tried for a handset, she could try for SIM Only. These tend to be scored lighter than handset contracts and after a few months clear billing it is normally possible to upgrade

Yes, of course you can-but if so the contract is yours, not hers, and if she defaults or runs up excess charges, you are 100% liable.
The provider doesn't care which account the payment is made from.
