Wider waist school trousers

  • Glad to hear you have sorted out the trousers. My DS has the opposite problem being very skinny. But I found M&S good for him as they have adjustable trousers with tabs and buttons at the side you can tighten or loosen. He didnt want elastic waist ones at 14 (too dorky)

ive been told that asda do these trousers but in the adult section, i also have trouble buying trousers to fit my 11 year old i think a trip to asda will be in line. asda are cheap and good wearing, you may need to take up the hem but thats no problem with an iron and some hemming tape.

BTW, a tip for using the hemming tape (I call it WundaWeb but I'm sure it has a variety of names) is to cut two lengths rather than one for each leg. I used to find that a single length would slip, and start poking out, thus sticking the trouser legs together rather than keeping the hem up. If you use two shorter lengths you can do half a leg at a time, and because you're not moving the garment around to get to the other side before you've 'hemmed' one side it doesn't 'escape' so easily.

My son always had a chunky middle and trousers were always too long when i had the correct sized waist :(

then i baught him trousers from the mans section but with the short leg, think it was 30" waist with 30" leg at around the age of 12.

could you not have a look on the ladies section in ASDA or where ever else .The sizes start at a ladies 8 and you could get the short leg.

talking about taking them up theres this glue stuff u can get in woollies its in a yellow container and its brilliant.. just squeeze it onto the fabric and stick it together .. no ironing nothing

hadnt thought of looking in the mans section so might give that a try .. i have been getting his shorts etc from them tho of course length isnt really an issue there
