Wider waist school trousers

Hi

My 11 year old Daughter is off to senior school in sept and I can't find grey school trousers that fit on the waist. In primary she has been wearing those stretchy ones so it hasn't been a problem, but apparently these are not the thing to be seen in for comp  This summer Next did wider waist trousers which fitted fab, but they haven't done it in school wear, i've started looking early realising it was probably going to be a problem...has anyone seen anything about please?

Thanks for any suggestions

Have you tried Debenhams and BHS, I have seen trousers for older boys with some elastic in the waist, so hopefully they would do the same for girls?

If you can find trousers that fit round the waist they may be too long in the leg. My SIL takes up my niece's school trousers with iron on hemming tape.

Good Luck with your search :)

Marks and Spencer's do girls trousers with elasticated waists. My daughter is 11yo and wears the age 16 size. They're fine in length for her too. They do black and grey. She's worn them for years. Easy washed too.

I'm pretty certain these are them. You can zoom in and you see they don't have a zip. They're cheaper than they used to be. http://www.marksandspencer.com/gp/product/B000NANEEG/sr=1-3/qid=1184404616/ref=sr_1_3/202-4810714-6364625?ie=UTF8&node=&m=A2BO0OYVBKIQJM&keywords=&mnSBrand=core&size=9&rh=n%3A43636030&page=1

I just read your post again and realised she doesn't want stretchy ones. If you look at the other trousers on the M&S website there are ones with adjustable waists.

    HTH.

Thanks Jackieb, yes i've ordered a load from M&S and the adjustable waist ones are small, seems to be more that you can take them in rather than let them out.

Thanks for the other suggestions too, i'll take her into the city centre so we can try the bigger stores.

Have you tried the womens department instead of the childrens school wear. We had difficulty locating school trousers (cos I left it too late), but managed to buy trousers in the ladies section at asda (reasonably priced too).Tesco ladies , also do a budget range. Worth a look if you are struggling.

BHS do larger sized school clothes, (or they did last year) there was a big ad and hoo haa about it. I got some for my daughter but still had to take them up.
There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.

Yep BHS do 'generous' fit. I also would consider just getting bigger size from asda or whereever and take them up with iron-on-tape

Thanks everyone, we went into the city centre today, I managed to get a nice skirt in BHS, but the generous fit in the trousers were too big and the standard too small.

I was an hour and a half in M&S and I think we tried on every pair of trousers in every size. The last, but one pair fitted lovely, I just have too get then taken up. I had the last pair so i'm going to get another one online tonight. :T

Thanks for all the replies, I can relax now I have sorted them :D
