When I lived at home we had a Doberman and she wasn't that friendly. She use to nab my bras off the washing line and run around with them and she pinned me in the corner once for ages until I was rescued by mum. It was hilarious watching dad mow the lawn getting bit on the bum every few steps. She also ate all the chocolates off the Christmas tree one year and then refused to let us kids near it, growling and snarling at us. Often had to get mum to let me and my friends out of the house because she wouldn't let us pass her.
When she died we got another who was the complete opposite, as soppy as anything, she was scared of the dark, scared of noises.... When there was a power cut she would run out and stand by the solar light! Only Doberman I know who wouldn't sleep unless her night light was on! She once devoured half a tin of quality street complete with wrappers, then 30seconds later brought the whole lot back up!
Can't remember which, but one if them leapt out if a moving car window and through two lanes of traffic as she recognised they were passing my Nan's, dad found her waiting by Nan's front door.
And my family wonder why I have cats! One if my cats has a horrid chewing addiction, he's chewed dressers, door handles all the screw covers from the kitchen units,...especially embarrassing when friends go to leave and I find he's chewed their handbags!0 -
I think my dogs may have been dropped on their heads at birth!!
I live near a racecourse and once while we were out one of mine took off with a friends dog and disappeared into the grandstand building. Next we heard shouting and both of them came sprinting out with a bacon sandwich each. I had to go home and cook some
One night we went out with some rather posh friends and they came back for a glass of wine. We were greeted at the front door by the fluffy one with a sanitary towel stuck to his beard and one on his ear! Pure class that dog :rotfl:0 -
my Anni, rest her soul was a lovely gentle dog - and not normally a thief, but apparently nicely wrapped up for Christmas, chocolate liquers (large box) was irrestistible. Imagine having to rush your staffie to the vets on Christmas eve - and the cost! but we did get a laff - on explaining to our vet she had eaten a whole box of chocolate liquers - minus foil wrappers, the vet said 'Bring her in - but don't let her drive'!0

New dog, Teo, loves to run. I get lots of comments about his level of energy when he is off the lead. Loves to chase, but also runs just for the sake of running.
On one walk he ran at full speed into my leg while I was mid stride. I fell forward and had huge bloody holes in my hands, elbows and knees. Picked stones out of these holes for a few days. Chipped my elbow bone too. I sat in the puddles I landed in and had a wee cry before I could get myself back up again.
He's only Westie - and the runt of the litter too, tiny! Inside he's a monster dog!!!:j got married 3rd May 2013 :beer:0 -
On holiday in Cornwall, we took our dog for a long walk on Bodmin Moor. She was in heaven as there was much to eat in the way of cow, rabbit, and sheeps poo! We couldn't stop her!
After our walk we stopped and had a drink at a small cafe, it was a nice day, we sat out side. The cafe owner was very friendly, got our drinks, got our dog some fresh water, then stopped to chat. Our dog loved the attention the cafe owner was giving her. She loved it so much she sicked up all the cow, sheep, and rabbit poo right on the cafe owners shoes!
The smell! The shame! We finished our drinks and made a hasty exit ..........0 -
One night my OH thought it was a good idea to give our Miniature Dachshund the last of the corned beef hash for supper. Whilst visiting a shop the following morning myself and OH were looking round the shop I happened to look down to see the dog having diarrhoea all over the carpet
. I was absolutely mortified and told the owner what had happened and had to dash to the supermarket next door for cloths and disinfectant. Thankfully the owner was very good about it but I couldn't ever go back in the shop. 0 -

our second dog meggy was a springer spaniel, and we sometimes took her out in the car, but she insisted on sitting on my lap in the front passenger seat. and she had loads of 'tricks' which being thick as a brick she sometimes came out with 'randomly' in hopes of a treat. so anyway we were driving down this road with meggy sat on mylap and she decides to 'wave'...........and this guy puttering up towards us on his 'scooter' took personally and waved back, meggy waved again and he um wobbled and crashed into the verge! OH didn't notice and just kept driving while me and kids were howling with laughter! I feel a bit guilty - I do hope he wasn't hurt!0

Same dog - Meggy - pulled like a train, and before I bought her a 'halti' she once pulled me through a hedge into someones garden where they were having a BBQ party! not sure if it was the sausages or burgers which lured her! could have been either - she was a glutton! the people were lovely - offered her a sausage but I refused and dragged her away! jeez - if she had been rewarded for that!0

When I was a kid we used to have a dog called Shadow who used to like nothing better than rolling in cow pats. He could smell them a mile off, so if he was off the lead he'd be off like a rocket before you could stop him. One hot summers day we had to share my uncles car with a rather ripe Shadow all the way home from the seaside.
One occasion before I was born mum and dad went to Linton for a dirty weekend, and got a dirtier one than they'd bargained for. Dad had to wash him off in the beck before they were allowed back in the guest house.
Dad took Shadow with him when he went to Headingley to watch the cricket once. After a while he looked around to see where he'd got to, and saw a bloke laid on the grass nearby with Shadow piddling all over his back. :rotfl:0
