This is a temporary role so I am going to wait and see if training is paid. The similar role with Appen was paid, and that is temporary too. It's hard to compare but I think Appen pay better even with the exchange rate...

Ahh okay. I have never done any work for the transcription dept (well, not on a serious basis, just a few of the Glass 1 hour things..).

For WSE, iSS would appear to be better in regards to pay, but obviously depends how draconian the quality measures are,

Quite a lot of training time, I hope it's paid time.....do the other positions have paid training or are we to do it in our own time I wonder

Is this the English transcription job for iSS? If so, I did this a few months ago for a couple of weeks and the training is paid. I quit because I didn't have the time to transcript their required amount each week.

If you have any questions about this position, just ask :)

Has anyone heard back from them regarding the search evaluation position. I passed all the tests and got the impression the work was due to start fairly soon, but it's been almost a week now without any further contact.

Some of us have been signing contracts today. Did you already do that last week?

Assume people received further correspondence today?

Actually left me with more questions.. they do seem a bit poorly organised, I assume this is because they are just starting out?

Not sure about everyone else, but I've started work now. Just completed my first 2 hours. :)

Hoping someone can help me here.... I feel a bit stupid as I've probably missed something really obvious!

I want to apply for either SSE or transcription work (both would suit me) but can't get past the personal details page.

It won't let me submit until I've chosen a state/province. I'm in London and can't find an option (I've checked for both "Greater London" and "London").

I tried to leave the space blank but that won't work.

    Am I missing something?

I just applied and had to put Kent.
This isn't the first time its happened either! I studied in Glasgow and was trying to input education recently (it might actually have been for appen) and couldn't select either greater London or Glasgow for both institutes i needed.
And its happened on other websites too. I don't really get it - its not like London is small! And I always end checking and rechecking, thinking i must just be missing it, but not in this case!

Anyway, I have just applied for ISS.

I worked for LB until May. Then I applied for appen. But read endless warnings/afwul reviews - so didnt really put much effort into the tests. But then I passed the first one and figured i may as well at least try - if it turned out awful then could leave. But I found myself getting madder and madder as I sat my last exam. Some pages were very similar to guidelines, so id follow the guidelines, and the true rating would be way way off, and the explanation completely contradictory! I got some wrong i accept but some of it was just ridiculous!
From this thread it seems that ISS isn't too smooth a process yet but I hope its better than my experience with appen! And if I fail again - I hope at least it seems reasonable - Im happy to accept being wrong - when i am!
  • When I log in I get the message that there are no HitApps available. Are all of the same ones available to everybody which means everyone is competing with each other and it's a case of regularly checking when there are some available?

Or do I have to wait a little while to be assigned some as I only signed the form an hour or two ago? :undecided
