Any alternatives to EuropaSim for heavy data usage in Europe?

Bad news I'm afraid as I just tried topping up with my Metro Bank Mastercard and it was refused. So it seems their ultra paranoid security manager has been hard at work again blocking payment access by non Spanish cards again. This despite his/her actions almost certainly violating EU Single Market requirements.
Luckily I have a UK relative with a Spanish online bank account as they own an apartment out there. So they can still top up my Orange Spain SIM for me through that and I can repay them. Without such a friend or relation you are definitely stuck.
May I suggest you and everyone else affected send an email to Orange Spain's Chief Orange Grinder (AKA CEO) Jean-Marc Vignolles. His email address is in the format first name (including hyphen) Dot Lastname @francetelecom.fr. and also copy it to their marketing manager Cristina Dot Santos @orange.es0 -

Just found the hard way that on Spanish Orange SIM the *111# balance check costs €0.18 per pop. I was in Croatia and was checking it as mad, a week later it was charged in bulk, that's €10 down the drain ..All my life my mother told me the storm was coming (c) Terminator 30

Thanks for sharing that tip - I am shocked.
Anyone with a Orange Spain sim confirm if they mind you using it mainly abroad?Certain OTT members have caused me to add this disclaimer: all advice given is free of charge & as such should be taken to be IIRC (as I don't spend hours researching all answers  )!0
