i want to get legal advice for a possible miss selling issue with barratts homes, for some reason my house insurance legal cover will not take this up as they were not insuring me at the time of the issue but we have been trying to sort the problem out without legal action and communication has now broken down so there is no choice
how can i find out who i can trust and get some free legal advice to see if i have a case??
thanks mark

Well most solicitors have some form on free consultation. That'd be my first stop.
But how much is this issue of my selling worth?0 -
its hard to say, basically one street was lied to and had missing documents from their legal pack, as we all used the solicitor barratts recommended, basically there is a full size basketball court outside our house which we were not told about and if we had known we would not have bought, council have plans for the court 5 years before be bought off plan, the 1st phase of the estate also has the basketball court plan, but us who live outside it had no idea and we all live in 3 story houses over looking this which attracts lots of drug use, violence and other issues0

Did you specifically ask what the land in front of the property was going to be used for, and were told something different to a basketball court?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Whe you looked at the plans for the area, did you not notice the basket ball court?
Oh! You didn't look? That was a bit silly wasn't it?0 -
yes we did, we did not have to move home and we made sure we found out what it was going to be, the sales person is no longer working for barratts and they do not wish to talk to us about it0

its not the first time ive bought a house, of course we asked lots of questions and trusted what we were told by barratts, there was no mention of a metal surround full size basketball court, are you asking a serious question?0
-
Well if you saw the plans wouldn't you notice?
But anyway let's say you haven't noticed, narrate can't be held responsible for criminal activity, the police should be dealing with it, but let's say that takes time.
What's your loss? What do u plan to sue barrats for, money wise?0 -

Was this necessary? I've read several threads this morning started by folk looking for advice and found examples like the one above with unhelpful, almost cruel comments.
Why?0 -
What were you told was going to be where the basketball court is.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0
-
Wouldn't the local authority searches have come up with this if it was in planning for 5 years?0
