Whereabouts Is The Economy "Improving"?

Fed up with hearing all this shallow claptrap about how the economy is "improving". It is NOT. There are still far too many people out of work. And most of these so-called "new jobs" comprise mostly of people who have been forced to start their own business due to the lack of proper job opportunities.

"Facism arrives as your friend. It will restore your honour, make you feel proud, protect your house, give you a job, clean up the neighbourhood, remind you of how great you once were, clear out the venal and the corrupt, remove anything you feel is unlike you... [it] doesn't walk in saying, "our programme means militias, mass imprisonments, transportations, war and persecution."

Starting your own business is a proper job. And small business can grow and provide employment for others.

We're in the North West with a branch in Herts, taken on an extra person, only a firm of 20 to start with and very busy at the moment. I sub-contract to a firm when we are too busy and a) they are getting more work from us and b) they are busy in their own right.

Generally speaking haulage firms are busy at the moment and we are only busy if people are making stuff and buying stuff!;)

What planet are you on? "Plenty of work if you REALLY want it???" Well, mate, let me disabuse you of that misconception right away. There is NOT plenty of work on the Wirral. I am FED UP with sending off my CV, applying for job after job on all these jobsites, and getting nowhere. Employers are being BOMBARDED with applications. They can pick and choose.

If there really IS "plenty of work", then it is all in London and the SE.

All right, mate, if there really is PLENTY of work, you give me the names and addresses of employers on Merseyside that are seeking admin or cust service staff - and don't say all the big dept stores, because I have tried them and have had no luck.

You know, it really angers me when I hear these people bleating the totally misguided message that there are "plenty of jobs". Plenty of jobs my eye!

Perhaps you are the problem then. If your finding jobs to apply for but getting know where you may need to look inward.

I did see quite a few shops in Liverpool with signs on their windows seeking staff. And a lot of agencies too.
