I've had awful problems with TT over the years, always take notes, always send an e-mail to TT to confirm telephone conversations, keep a copy of the e-mail. Always refer to Dunstone if the menials don't perform. Having said that, TT have always backed down on contractual issues (eventually), but I got fed up with spending my time to rescue a few £££££ so returned to BT.

I've had problems with BT over the years, including idiots who wanted to run white cable on the top of the mahogany skirting boards and then wrecked a decent carpet. I don't intend to allow a BT employee into my house for the forseeable future. Having said that, I've had no problems with BT customer service over the last 12 months ....
  • Hi all,

Just a quick update on the story so far.

Having been offered £150 compensation ( previously £50 & then £100), we declined & then asked again for a transcript of sales call (By this time a different person at Talk Talk).
They agreed to supply it for a refundable cost of £10. We agreed to this but during the call the Talk Talk person decided that this might be a problem afterall & promised to call back next day.
He called back & said that due to bank details being on the transcript they weren't happy giving us a copy.(And again asked what figure we would be happy with in compensation having declined our first suggestion).
It's got to the stage now where the compensation doesn't really matter as much as the principle of the whole thing & surely Talk Talk could blank out personal details(if they have any)?

    Interested in any comments.

    John.
  • Surely if its your bank details on the transcript then its not a problem for you to have a copy!

They should give you a copy free, after all its their !!!! up & illegal moves which have caused these issues. I'd seek advice from Ofcom/Otello on your next move. Personally £150 is a good bit of compensation, ensure any costs like dial-up, installation/connection for new services are put into a bill & invoiced to head office at Talk Talk by recorded mail.

Give them 3 opportunities to pay & take them to the small claims court as they havent got a leg to stand on!
