Slammed by Talk Talk

As thread suggests, we have been 'slammed' with no advance warning from Talk Talk or BT(original provider).
Only found out while hassling Orange over dead Broadband service,(Could write book about that!).
Anyway complained to Talk Talk & OFCOM & at moment not expecting switch back for poss. 30 days(OFCOM estimate).
Question is what could we reasonably expect from Talk Talk as compensation considering they admitted it was their fault?.
Anybody had similar probs?
BTW as we have technically 'left' BT, I presume Talk Talk will pick up the bill for the dial up internet access I am using at the moment:D

Update on the above & a question,
Freed ourselves from Talk Talk & reconnected with BT eventually. After a few calls/letters, T/T offered to 'clear our debt!!', ie. the cost of calls & dial up internet access we made while in their clutches. Not content with this act of generosity they also offered £50 compensation(subsequently upped to £100).
Is this reasonable?
It just seems that they,re getting off lightly for what is presumably a fraudulent business practice(slamming ,that is).... unless of course OFCOM hit them with a fine :rolleyes:0 -
If youve been slammed the slaes person that did this will possibly be recieving feedback and coaching and also possibly disciplinary action. As obviously this is not somthing talktalk want.... sales people earn commision and where this happens you are bound to have some sort of corruption. If humans are involved its inevitable.0

Good grief. What has happened to this country?
IMHO, the euphemism 'slamming' is the same as the criminal act of fraud.
Did 'the sales person who did this' get arrested as he/she should have been?Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
I couldnt possibly comment on this as i dont know the details. However you also tend not to be able to just fire someone for a single occurance. From past experience i have seen cases where employees have been disciplined for actions such as this but it all depends on the curcumstances i guess.0

'If humans are involved it's inevitable '? Maybe Talk Talk should raise their standards & employ some trained chimps:D0 -
You cant really class everyone that works for talktalk as a chimp..... admittidley there are the rogue ones but there are alot of good staff0

Totally agree. We are still waiting for transcript of sales call to determine who is lying in this case as our BT No. was used along with a fake address, hence we received no paperwork prior to the slam.0 -
If the sales person concerned would have received or did receive commission as a result of the falsehoods he/she told, how can it be anything other than (a Section of the Theft Act 1968) attempting to or obtaining property (in this case money) by deception?Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Don't fire him let him get his DNA recorded and finger prints taken and let him go to court.
If you are aware of this scam you are aiding and abetting him. And if you know of anyone else who is aware of it they are too.
Let him have his day in court.
