Tiscali Free Line Rental? Is there A Catch?

Tiscali are offering free telephone line rental if you take out their broadband package and phone service. Saving £120 a year. This sounds a bit too good to be true? I noticed it is a minimum 12 month contract but I can live with that. Is there anything else I have overlooked?

There is a £30 set up fee, I think thats for existing customers also.

I can't get it in my area till December, will be great to have because I don't use the landline at all and only have it for the broadband.

For starters its Tiscali, an ISP with one of the worst reputations, and is only available on LLU exchanges which eliminates a large majority of the population.

Me too - they are terrible. Our broadband went down a few weeks ago, and now it is slower than dial up. Trying to persuade Tiscali there is a problem is harder than sucking footballs through a straw. They keep closing the call and not ringing us back. Keep away from them!
  • Only 52% of lines enabled so its £14.99, + £10.99 line rental to Tiscali, and £30 fee on setup. Then you have to hope you have no line problems, by some of the blog comments re Tiscali on service I dont fancy phoning India for a line check!.
