c and g 3 year step bond

Hi,

I have a 3 yr c and g step bond.
I also bank with lloyds/. However the c and g account has never shown on the Lloyd's internet banking.
I was wondering if other customers have the same issue.

Thanks

They're separate companies so I wouldn't imagine they'd show on each others system. Lloyd's doesn't show on my Halifax banking either.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

    Hi MarcoM,

It's not possible to access that through our Internet Banking service. If you need any info on your Step Bond, please contact Cheltenham & Gloucester directly.

Been advised today by the C&G team that they are closing these accounts a month or so early, is this the case?

I've not heard anything from C&G saying that (and I think yours matures around the same time as mine), but I do vaguely recall someone else on an MSE forum thread saying that theirs had been closed early.

Edit: Link given below for the above mentioned post. You asked the OP to let others know of the outcome. The OP never followed it up, but someone else gave the answer.

  • I had a little problem with my Step bond its due to mature in November and I got a letter last month saying it was being wound up in July.
I did contact my local Lloyds who contacted C&G and was advised some letters have gone out by mistake and the bond will mature in November.
I found my local Lloyds very helpful at Cannock they phoned me back kept me informed.
They did not fob me off as Lloyds reply above would suggest.

    Hi meatandtwoveg,

I'm not able to advise on products offered by Cheltenham & Gloucester. If you still require clarification, you may wish to get in touch with them.

    Thanks,

    Meatandtwoveg.

if you have a problem pop into your local Lloyds they were more helpful than Lloyds input into this subject.

As I said my Lloyds contacted C&G for me and gave me the names of people to speak to if needed.
