Once a WEEK  You mean you don't check your bank balance every day .

Ah my child you have much to learn :rotfl:.

I do actually check my balance several times a day... as Paypal payments, Qu1dco payments etc sometimes go in mid-day. But my bank account is that much to the penny that I am unlikely to have anything extra to put into O/P on a daily basis... but as I work harder and smarter I am sure more cash will flow in my direction and I will have extra pounds to put towards my O/P's. But yes... I have very much to learn lol... and I am willing to listen to any advice from you lovely lot.

Okay today's MFW efforts....

*A couple of Eb@y items have sold so approximately £20 into the O/P pot later today when I have sorted out postage.
*I have checked my bank today... nothing exciting to report... but I am not over drawn. :j
*Shower instead of a bath. I love a deep relaxing bath in an evening but as the weather is so lovely and it's so warm at night I shall save money and have showers for the foreseeable.
*Placed a free William Hill bet on the winner of Big Brother (sad, I know... but being a psychology graduate, I love the social psychology aspect of it... that's my excuse anyway lol) and I also joined William Hill via Qu1dco so that's £22 cashback.
*Plant more spring onions. They grow so quickly, can be eaten at any stage and you get hundreds to a £1 packet. A huge saving in the long run (I frequently use them in cooking rather than whole onions.) They grow fabulous in pots too... and indoors.
*My adult son (who is at home at the moment) turned all the lights off before he went to bed last night 'faint'... including the outside security light, not so good but the garden shed and contents are still intact this morning.
*Low temp coloured wash to dry on the line.
*Following a Sl1mming World recipe to use up frozen pineapple and peppers in freezer; Hawaiian Chicken. They use breasts in the recipe... I am using thighs. I shall make double the amount and freeze portions.
*Get LO's trike out of the garage and go for a long walk/cycle. She has nearly out-grown this and I want to get some use out of it until the end of Aug when she gets her birthday bike.
*List two things on 3bay.
*Wrap and post 3bay items.
*Put library book dates on calendar to avoid any fines.
*Continue with assignment.
*Update MFW and Weight Loss diaries.

That's it so far... hopefully I will have loads more to update with later.

Have a productive Monday ladies and gentleman.

After reading some very good reviews on OVO utilities I went via qu1dco and Uswitch (£30 cashback) and my bills 'should' be £150 cheaper per year. It is a fixed price for 12 months, an online account and you receive 3% interest on every pound you are in credit (sounds good to me.) My initial direct debit is £62 per month so that is £10 per month cheaper than I pay now. I am also £400 in credit with Np*wer and that is with a recent July bill so I should have a decent cheque to come off them in the very near future when I actually change over suppliers. I shall split the money between my O/P pot and my emergency fund pot.

Also today... £18.25 from two Ebay sales into O/P pot and 17pence road kill. Phone bill was also £6 cheaper this month than normal.... so a further £6 into the OP pot. A good day so far all in all.

Morning all,

Another lovely sunny one for you all I hope... winter seems so far away... I know I shouldn't speak too soon.
When the temperatures like this and the sun's shining things don't seem all bad. I can understand why sunshine is vital to help stave off depression. Anyway... enough rambling and on with the MFW show for today...

* Listing more things on 3bay. It does bore the pants off me but when the money comes in, I realise it's really not that bad.
* Tidy and clean the living room whilst little one is at her fathers. I don't know why I insisted on black glass shelves, tables, fireplace etc Collects dust daily and shocking for fingerprints... never again!
*Check banking.
*Cook last of beetroot out of the garden before it gets too woody.
*Join T*pcashback... plenty of click-throughs so I am led to believe.
*Clean back hallway where dog likes to shake his coat, scratch against the wall and generally leave big tumbleweeds of dog hair. If I don't clean the walls at least once a week it looks horrendous. Dog hairs I am sweeping up twice a day atm... why didn't I get a cat? ;)
*Wrap and post more 3bay.
*Carry on with free O/u course on the internet.
*Small spend day today, just milk.
*I shall do a Tilly Tidy today and report back later.
*And the usual... drink more water less coffee, meals from stores, shower rather than bathe, water veggie patch, wash bedding and dry in the sunshine on washing line.

Have a lovely sunny money day peoples. xx

Sounds to me like you're pretty clued up :T:T:T

We're with OVO, not had any complaints yet. We only have them for electricity though. £400 in credit is fantastic :T

Morning all

It's cooler and overcast in East Yorks this morning, it's quite a nice relief... I actually slept with a light cover on last night.
I'm definitely not complaining at all this sunshine though... the veggie plot is growing like Amazonian jungle (so are the weeds but hey ho) and that's always good for money saving.

Yesterday's add-ons;
*Joined Topc4shback - did several click-throughs, nothing has tracked yet.
*Received £29.95 refund from WW.
*Received catalogue money from S.I.L. The catalogue pays 12.5% commission so I made £3.95 on the payment.
*Dog had chicken skin and LOs left over meal scraps mixed with his complete dog food for his dinner.
*Nice cool shower instead of bath.
*Three more items sold on 3bay, listed several more items, wrapped and posted items.
*Refined finances for August.
*£12 o/p and £2 o/p from Tilly Tidy.
*I have been asked out to dinner on Saturday evening. It would be my first date after my marriage break down of a few months ago. I said I would have to think about it. The gentleman in question, I have known as a friend for a few years and even though he is exceptionally sweet I don't know if I could feel anything but friendship for him. My ex has already been through three other ladies and he says he wished he waited as he wasn't emotionally ready for a new relationship... lol, like he was thinking with his erm emotions.

Okay today's to-do list;
*£10 Qu1dco payment to O/P.
*Update MFW diary :T
*Use slightly jaded cauliflower as mash for the top of tonight's Cottage Pie. A bit of butter and pepper, mashed well and then grated cheese sprinkled on top before it hits the grill. Bulk out meat with grated carrots and chickpeas too.
*List, wrap, post more 3bay stuff.
*Water veg plot
*Use broadbeans and carrots from plot for dinner. Salad leaves and beetroots for mackerel salad lunch.
*Take LO out for at least 90 minutes fresh air. I think we shall go and feed the horses some twisted carrots from the veggie plot. The carrots are so twisted they would be impossible to peel, so the horses can have them. LO loves seeing the horses and the foals trotting around.
*Scrub the kitchen floor, on hands and knees with an old kitchen scrubby sponge thingy. Stardrops, water and elbow grease.
*Make more ice-cubes for drinks.
*I got weighed this morning ( a bit naughty as Saturday is my official weigh in day)... and I have lost 2lbs so far this week. I am very pleased as I have only been half trying... it has given me the desire to try a lot harder. :)
*Use up at least two (yakky) herbal teabags rather than coffee... and drink more water.

Have a financially sound Tuesday lovely all.

I have chosen a fixed rate package were I am tied in for a year, unless I pay a termination fee. Hopefully OVO will be as good as I have heard.
