Still looking for Samba replacement

When Samba went, I followed the advice on here and went to Currys to get a £1.99 SIM for a Three 1Gb preload. Three weeks ago the price had gone up to £3.99.
I am running out of allowance so I went back to Currys today. The price is now £7.99 so I left without a SIM because I can get GiffGaff cheaper than that. However, I still think £7.50 for a Gb is too much. Any current non-contract mobile broadband offers boardists can recommend?
Many thanks.
