New Boiler Advice

Hello

After some advice for a new boiler installation. Been doing some research online and have had some quotes, but want to make sure I am on the right track please.

I am trying to reduce costs (whilst maintaining safety) as much as possible. Following a review of quotes I am exploring buying the boiler for fitting instead.

My questions:

- Can I purchase any wireless thermostat do use with the boiler? Looking at Worcester Bosch - or does it have to be Worcester Bosch?

- The boiler socket needs a spur, I presume the gas fitter should ask an electrician to do this unless they have evidence they are registered for electrics too?

- Are there any risks with the powerflushing? Can it affect radiators e.g leaking etc?

Thanks for reading

1 keep the electric supply separate from the plumbing

2 don't be brainwashed into thinking Worcester are the only boiler supplier

3 go with the plug in for the boiler YOU choose

4 if the rads leak when power flushing then they would leak this winter anyway, no issues.
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

We were advised not to go with their own wireless unit ( Worcester Bosch recommend) , Honeywell are much better.
Apparently some sort of problem with interference and distance ?

    Thanks very much.
I don't actually need all this fancy stuff - am perfectly happy with the dials on the boiler, i'm always cold so don't think thermostat will help me much.

I will have a look at Honeywell. Any particular one?

Also regarding the flue - is a standard flue generally ok do you know?

Also any experience of TRV's? I am going to try and save by buying them as well.

    Thanks very much

Probably a good idea to seek advice from a professional on most of your points.

far too many questions & the fact you have said you want to save money leads me to believe you want to install this yourself so I doubt any RGI's will give you any advice on here
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

Wow. Far to many questions... really? Well you are completely wrong on that one. I don't want to install myself and what is wrong with trying to save some money?

nothing wrong with saving money I'm all for it, however with questions like flues your installer should be advising you depending on site conditions

Just wanted to know whether buying one that comes with the boiler is ok, as if I embark on buying a boiler pack don't want it to cost more than what it would have with the fitter buying it.

as i said your installer will advise you on the correct flue to buy, a standard flue might not be the correct one due to the regs
