from what i have experienced myself and noticed on here from others its usually the swapping over between suppliers.
neither communicate between each other whoever they may be.
even when both are given exact readings on the day of the switch.
they still come up with fictitious readings.
then i read they want to speed up this switching process!
woha woha woha!
get the start and end readings bit fixed first before making things even worse!0 -
Why can't Ofgem tell the truth and say they can't do nothing about it
they have no power what's so ever:mad:
The EU is the only one with the power to do anything and i can't see them stepping in
Labour say they will freeze the energy prices if they get in...Another lie
How they going to do it?...They are all private company's.....What they going to do fine them
so our energy bills go up even higher to pay for the fine's.Nobody is Perfect. I am Nobody, therefore I am Perfect.0 -

Over 80% of the complaints were about billing, not prices. Energy prices in the UK are at the very lower end of the scale in Europe.0 -

Isn't there some kind of license condition they need to meet?
Unable to produce a bill? Technical difficulty in setting up an account?
It's like a restaurant that hasn't got a hob and oven.
What if OfGem is run by Ephors, the evil priests of Sparta from the movie 300? Provided the Big Six keep the supply of fresh Oracles coming, daily, they will never lose their license. We can't go to war on the energy suppliers, it's the Carnea, Leonidas.0 -

??? You're talking about something completely different.
Yes, energy costs are rising here. It's still far cheaper than most of Europe.

Of course prices are going to rise - fossil fuels are a finite resource, and there are more people than ever on this planet scrambling for them. No government around the world will stop it.0 -

Oh yeah, ~80% produced via nuclear which not only allows it to provide for its whole population, but also export to the UK and every other country that borders it!0 -
France is nice and low, I wonder why?

I fully agree with you, we should press ahead with nuclear generation to try and keep our prices at the lower end of the market - the days of cheap North Sea gas are numbered.
Unfortunately, we're paying the French £92.50/MWh for Hinkley Point C :eek:0 -

Plus of course the French Government controls prices.
Given that there is little piped natural gas for heating/hot water the prices are not that cheap:
http://www.french-property.com/guides/france/utilities/electricity/tariff/
About 11p/kWh for a 24/7 tariff and 12p/8pkWh for their 'E7 tariff'. Standing charges on top roughly comparable with UK.
P.S. I am very much for Nuclear and Fracking!0 -

Smart move.
Lets hope our innovative R&D people can create some world leading Thorium reactor designs and re-integrate ourselves into the worlds energy market.0
