UK Hotel/Hostel Regulator

Hi
Just looking for some advice, I recently made a group booking at a hostel using hostelbookers.com however when my group turned up we did not get the rooms we had booked. I was just wondering if anyone knew of a regulator we can complain to as we paid for a product/service we didn't get, I thought it would be the office of fair trading but it looks like this has disbanded? I have tried to resolve this with the company however to no avail.
Thanks xx

You may get more responses posting over on the 'consumer rights' board

I don't believe there's any hotel / hostel regulator/ombudsman that you could go to. If, as you say, you've reached a stalemate with the company, then for financial recompense ans/or compensation I think your next step is probably a 'Letter before Action' warning that you'll take them to the small claims court, and then following up with this threat if necessary.
If you simply want to warn other customers away / punish the hostel then a bad review on Tripadvisor and/or naming and shaming on this board will probably do the trick.0 -
