I would suggest instead that you make an appointment. That way you should be guaranteed to have someone's undivided attention at the time you arrange.

I think, I'm not sure, that if you phone Lloyds TSB in usual banking hours they will transfer your call to your branch if you ask them to. May save you a visit to the bank ?

    Maybe worth a try.

I've been passed onto (and currently being dealt with) a woman from our bank- who I must say has been wonderful with us. We've given them until Monday to sort things out then we're off the branch to do some asswhipin :p
We're also going to call citizens to see what they think we should do if they delay in putting the money back.

    Sorry I haven't updated sooner!

Well as you know they took £476 on the 12th July. We called into the local branch on Monday 16th to deal with an actual person (Christine) face to face.

She was brilliant, but Lloyds STILL didn't speak to the loans department (Who are saying we definitely DO NOT have any loan) and they are STILL saying we do. Christine assured us it would all be sorted by Wednesday 18th.

Wednesday came, we checked our account and they have taken another £200 out for this bl00dy non-existent loan. Cue another visit to the bank, Christine can't help because no-one knows what is going on.

Friday we notice that the first £476 + all fees have gone back into our bank- hooray. They've acknowledged they've botched up but they have not given us the other £200 back or the £25 failed dd fee for our car insurance.

To get these back, WE have to write to the bank and request it. We also have to request that our credit history be cleared- but they can't guarantee it

LLoydsTSB do more stuff ups than any other bank going. I fired them off after they stuffed my account up good and proper and even though it was in dispute they sent it to DCA, which they are not allowed to do plus they added charges and interest on top, which they are also not allowed to do. Thankfully I got every penny back, wouldn't ever bank with hem again.

alanalea, I think it's time for a formal complaint both to Lloysds TSB and the financial ombudsman. Glad you got at least some of your money back though.

    I feel like crying.

Lloyds have taken another £447.20 today- so along with more fees and failed dd's they've pushed us over the overdraft again.

The collections department are now saying that we paid the loan off JUNE 15th 05 -but the payment bounced (which was not possible because our re-mortgage money didn't appear until 22 June).

They are also saying that the money that we did pay in on 1st July 2005 they have not received. We have proof that we overpaid the loan by £219, which Loansdirect repaid on 15th July 05. Lloyds, their loans department and their collection department still haven't actually spoken to one another.

We have been onto the Ombudsman, who are sending a letter on our behalf. Lloyds have 8 weeks to respond- what the hell are we supposed to do for 8 weeks??!?

Is it possible that they've mixed us up with someone else?

it certainly sounds as though they have their wires badly crossed somewhere. It might be worth speaking to the CAB, I don't know if they have any way of speeding things up for you but it must be worth a try at this point. I don't know if you already doing it but if not it may be a very good idea to start making a diary to keep a record of all phone calls and letters you send. Include the names of people you speak to, the time your call started and as much detail as you can include about what was said. I know it sounds a bit obsessive but it's obvious that Lloyds tsb keep changing their story so you need to have a record of what's been said and when.

    Good luck.

When speaking to the ombudsman, be sure to stress how stressed you've been by this. They might make lloyds pay you additional compensation.

How are Lloyds taking this from your account? I've got a Lloyds loan, and that comes out via direct debit? Can't you just cancel the payment they're taking?
