Travelodge room cleaning.

This article about Travelodge is a bit of an eye opener. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2690986/So-budget-hotel-chain-gives-best-nights-sleep-Theyre-popping-offering-family-rooms-just-29-TOM-RAWSTORNE-brood-discover-get.html
Unfortunately I am staying at a Travelodge in 2 weeks time so will definitely be checking the bed :eek:0 -
I finally got proof of something I have long suspected - the cups/mugs in each room are never subjected to a proper wash in a dishwasher.
They are simply rinsed out in the bathroom sink. Even between guests!!
If I knew how to post a photo from Picasa it would show the state of the outside of one of the 4 mugs left in my family room recently - all needed rewashing with a kettle of boiling water and drying on a clean towel.
I would be quite surprised to find that any hotel, whether it's a Travelodge or the Beverly Hills Hotel, doesn't do this. Of course you should expect the cup to at least look clean, but if you seriously think they'll have gone to the cost, time and effort of removing all cups from every room every day and replacing them with freshly sterilised ones you're living in a fantasy world.0 -

well if its in the daily mail it must be the truth.Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -
My eyes, the photo I have and the recompense the Travelodge gave me when I complained on check out the next day - that do you?
No
Where is the proof they never use a dishwasher.
You saw one cup and have a photo of one cup, they compensated you when you complained. Not sure how that is proof that no travelodge ever uses a dishwasher.
Doesnt bother me either way as I always boil the kettle and wash them myself before using them0 -
From threads I've read on other forums, I think this is quite common — not just at Travelodges, but across hotels in general. Can't say I'm that surprised, really...0

Having read-read the op's post to the girlfriend and she said the phrase 'get a life' sprang to mind - I don't know why, me I make no comment.
I just hope the OP never travels to Asia (I really do).Turning left avoids some of the idiots (only some)0 -
I just work on the assumption that nobody is going to be up to my standard, regardless of which hotel. I always wash out cups and even kettles. Maybe I am a bit over the top but I also bring my own pillow cases to lie over theirs.
Come to think of it, maybe I should stay at home, lol.0
