POLL on Click to Win comps - adding to main board or not?

It's a vehement no vote from me0

I voted NO.
Considering how many C2W's there are compared to the mags daily, it would be too much.
You would have pages and pages of them to wade through to find the competitions that may have got posted between them in the meantime.0 -
Maybe it's just me but I'm not sure how a competitions forum could have too many competitions listed nor how competitions can 'clog up' a comps board?
To steal a quote from MaineBlue :rotfl:BRB, off to post all the 'Goodreads' comps; see you in a week folks
The point is, the nature of the Click to Win comps are such that they would be a drain on people's time (posting up every prize/multiple sites etc) and a drain on the BG's time (moving comps to GO etc) let alone every forum user going through the comps board on a daily basis. I also defy anyone to say they would want the C2Ws being posted when the ** advents :santa2:** are here :eek: (yep, I'm shamelessly bringing in the 'A' word!! :rotfl:)
If people go to the host C2W site, they click on multiple comps they want to enter at one sitting (just like you do on the Goodreads site coincidentally:D). Why would anyone want the extra task of clicking from a forum link for each and every comp? That would just end up quadrupling the time it took to enter these (and they take long enough as it is!)

I hate seeing them on the main board as it just clogs up pages.
I found it stupid how someone posts the exact same comp for 7/8 mags or whatever it is, why not post 1 then in the post title put for example ''click to win - hard drive'' & 7 links etc., ive always thought they are doing that just to get the most thanks/posts etc..
Ive never understood the point of whos got the biggest amount of thanks or posts on a free website that gives you nothing for being the biggest poster.Still comping, after 2 heart attacks 4th feb & 6th feb, and a stent put in.. 45 years old only:eek:0 -

This is so true, and I'm sure they have more than enough to do already, since Divadee's departure.
At the end of the day, if people want to spend their time entering, that's fine, but it seems a bit of a time-wasteful endeavour posting every single CTW.0 -

Thanks for the reply. I do know what you are saying and there are a huge amount of C2W's (although to be fair there isn't that many new goodreads most days). Since I started using the forum I have repeatedly heard people argue that all comps need to be posted on the main board (whether it was people suggesting a separate thread for mags or twitter or rc's/gleams etc...). And yet we don't have the click to wins or indeed the goodreads posted.
Yes it would be a huge task to post them but if someone wants to take it on why not?
The BG's do have a huge task (and do a great job) but if I remember rightly they can move 200 comps at a time to GO (correct if I'm wrong often am!) - so not a huge amount of extra work.
And as for people having to go through them - well there are loads of comps I don't enter - I've only just got into twitter comps recently up to then Friday was red cross day for me - wading through comps you don't enter is one of those things.
Having said I do understand why people don't want them posted individually - I'm just playing devils advocate and putting forward another viewpoint (aka being a pain the bum!)0 -

Sorry to partial quote becksi - you made lots of valid points in your comment - but I picked this part out as would love to know if there are indeed any 'volunteers' who wish to take on this monumental task?!=^._.^= You will always be lucky if you know how to make friends with strange cats =^._.^=0 -
I just had a quick count and there are 80 separate CTW sites.
Often that means that one prize is listed on all of those sites.
Will that mean 80 posts on the main board for that one prize ?0 -

I made sure I put in my first post I wouldn't do it!
But who knows, there are a lot of amazing people who already give a lot of time to posting comps there might be a few more out there willing to take on the C2W's!0 -
I voted no, and agree with others about RC & Gleam being separate too. But then the argument could carry on and say twitter, facebook etc could have their own bitsWhen we had a mag daily thread on the main board the argument was that people felt they weren't readily accessible and people were missing them because they weren't posted individually on the main board
Not aiming at anyone (especially not becski) - but we'll always have an argument about comps not being readily accessible. The only way some people would stop the moaning would be to have someone to enter the flipping comps for them!!!
In my little own world, my ideal forum would have everything separated; Facebook, twitter, blogs, etc. Even that way, I'm pretty sure problems would occur though
Can't make everyone happy unfortunatelyThanks to all posters :A0
