Setting up BT account online - failed

I'm trying to set my Dad up with an online account, filling in all the details - green ticks on every page and it then ends up saying:
"Sorry, something has gone wrong so we haven’t been able to create your BT ID. Please try again later."
Any ideas why it failing (tried different browsers) - I hesitate to ring them as I'm not the account holder and my dad is decidedly non techie.

Site is not working properly - a lot of people have been unable to access their email accounts since late Saturday and the problem is ongoing.:mad:0

If it helps i speak to BT on my mum's behalf from a different address, they usually give her a call while im on the line to check its ok to speak with me0
