That said, I have just had a look into Flue Gas recovery systems, and that would be a go'er, as it is really just an add on to the new boiler, so not much disruption. It wont really save me anything, but will mean I can get a more efficient boiler for my money. I thought I had figured it out, then I read this...

Flue gas heat recovery units, which are fitted to boilers to capture waste heat and reuse it, will be removed from the list of approved measures that qualify for cashback from August 5.

No chance of sorting it out before then!
