Is this like the windows where you have to get 50% done or could you get that one wall done?

Yes, they would not count this wall as it is only the bottom of a bay window, so not enough.
That said, I have just had a look into Flue Gas recovery systems, and that would be a go'er, as it is really just an add on to the new boiler, so not much disruption. It wont really save me anything, but will mean I can get a more efficient boiler for my money. Thats if I can find a green deal fitter that does not just add a grand onto the price knowing you are getting a grand as a grant

is it just me or are 3v cards no longer working on Sada.com?

They didn't work for me about three weeks ago. Prior to that I almost always paid by 3v ... Not tried since though ! X

    *Rant Alert*
Just thought I would look into that green deal to see if I could get something towards a new boiler, as mine must be about 15-20 years old. I am still unsure if I want to change it, as from what I hear, new ones have a very short life span. Anyway, I had a look into it, and you need to get 2 out of the following improvements done...
1 Condensing mains gas boiler *tick*
    2 Fan-assisted storage heaters *nope*
3 Flue gas heat recovery *nope*
    4 Replacement warm-air unit *nope*
5 Waste water heat recovery *payback time of about 40 year, if I am lucky, no thanks*
6 Cavity wall insulation *all walls bar one were done years ago, so a no go*
    7 Flat roof insulation *nope*
    8 Floor insulation *nope*
    9 Room-in-roof insulation *nope*
10 Double/triple glazing (replacing single glazing) *now, I had considered taking out my smallest window, putting in a single glazed unit, so I could get the grant, but it has to be +50% of the windows in the home, scuppered again!*
    11 Secondary glazing *nope*
    12 Replacement doors *nope*

Oh well, guess I will just keep the boiler for a bit longer then.
It just grieves me when landlords can could get new boilers and double glazing free under the old scheme, just didnt seem right to me when essentially that is a business, and they should have been judged on their own income, not their tenants.

Okay, thats me done, rant over.
    Moving on :D

edit: I thought loft insulation would have been included, but its not.

I'm assuming you're not eligible for a free boiler under the scheme run by energy companies? We're due to have our loft insulation survey done this weekend, hopefully we'll be getting that done for free, and we're not on benefits or even with British Gas, who are doing the survey :T
