Good morning all, still cloudy here after the thunderstorms last night. Really they could be slightly better with their timing, 4 o'clock in the morning really is not on!

Quite inadvertently, I have failed to share my good news tonight :o

I was offered a job today, quite out of the blue. It can be done completely at home, at times to suit me and it's part time with a very good hourly rate. How good is that? :D
Im here anyway, I might as well earn money whilst I am. It will bring £100+ in a week through the school hols and if it's manageable, I might keep it up afterwards. it made me very happy :D

Fantastic - I envy you, it is hard to get decent work from home :D

I opened a jar of cherries the other night and I've got about half left, what can I do with them?
Will the cherries freeze - I am thinking of smoothies.
Or if I topped the jar up with alchol - do I take the water out first? I think I have some brandy or some little bottles of port
Or do I put them in a box with some alchol and freeze them - I am thinking of Christmas trifles.
    Any suggestions?
I've got no one to make cake for and OH suffers my dessert concoctions with a derisory Very Nice dear :D

Send them here, I'll eat them :D Actually, I suspect they would freeze but be soggy when you defrosted so would be OK for smoothies. Might be nice frozen in ice cubes to put in drinks? If you freeze it with alcohol do not forget that the freezing point of alcohol is lower than water :D The freezing point of ethanol is -114C  Port would probably be around -10C :D (guess)

Hi FC, from experience I'd say you've three ways you could approach this:
Phone the eye clinic, the number should be on your appointment letter. Tell them about your new symptoms and see if you can be seen sooner. IME the receptionists are experienced enough to ask a nurse or Dr to speak to you rather than just fob you off.
If that doesn't work, I'd go to your GP and ask for an emergency referral to the eye clinic. When I had my first symptoms of my eye troubles I went to the GP in the morning and was given an appt at the hospital for the afternoon. It might be that you'd have to turn up and wait for a space between appointments but hopefully you'd be seen sooner and start any treatment sooner too.
If you can't get a GP appt today go to your opticians and get them to retest your IOP. If it's gone up then they should be able to phone the clinic and have you seen sooner.

Good luck. Our eyes are so precious and it's hard waiting to be seen when you're sure something is wrong.

    Good morning :)

Thank you Mrs B. The pain has all but gone now, but I am going to ring up the eye clinic. Our GP surgery is sadly pretty poor lately and I don't want to be getting tied up in their triage thing on a Friday!
I Agree with your last sentence so much. I'll be honest, this isn't something Ive worried about at all up until now, but having pain was a bit worrying.

How very liberal of you. I love it :D I always knew you had it in you.,
Ive had a bittersweet night. I had a pain in my eye earlier....when I try and look up..,down...left right, it hurts.
I'm already waiting to get pressure tests done at hospital, but that's a month away :( my eye really did hurt tonight. I think I knight phone the doc in the morning? or maybe lll have more joy with the optician?

No need to answer, I'm thinking out loud

Go to the optician. Recently I had a funny sensation in my eye and am a worrier due to 4 eye ops 10 years ago so phoned optician. Apparently they have a scheme where they see people urgently with eye problems and are paid by the NHS to do it. Dont know what it is called but optician should know. If no joy phone eye hospital they also have emergency eye appts. Dont worry about bothering them .Your sight is very important.
