I'm still suffering with the insect bites from last saturday a week is far too long to be itching i thinkI looked online and some suggested deoderant well i tried it but it didn't make a lot of differance .Someone told me that the healthier you are the more likely you are to be bitten !!! I must be super healthy then:):):) They seem to arrow in on my lily white legs :):):)
No idea if this will help you, JackieO, but I was told (on a lupus forum I used to be a member of) that they tend to find lupies extra-tasty, and that a good way to discourage them is to eat M@rmite regularly. I was sceptical, but I love the stuff so happy to give it a try. Fwiw, I don't seem to get eaten anywhere near as much as I used to. I still get bitten, yes, but only roughly a quarter as badly as before. Mr LW has M@rmite on toast for brekkie most mornings, and I then have the spoon he uses to scoop it out of the jar, with a generous dollop on it. HTH.:o
It's amazing how many of us have mental health issues. I'm quite open with mine and I've found it helps others, as there are many people suffering in silence as there is still a stigma with mental health problems. I'm ok for now. I'm on Prozac and will always be. If anyone ever wants to chat, inbox me x
Imho, it's an illness like any other, and we shouldn't be ashamed that the part affected happens to be the mind. I've had just about every anti-d going over the course of the past 42 years (yes, I've been on anti-d of one sort or another since I was 12!!) Currently on Moclobemide. No idea what happens if/when that stops working. I guess then they shoot me.:D

    Hi all,

Didn,t post yesterday, was a bit worse for wear, we met up with some friends Friday night and instead of going out - we ended up going out-out..

Hugs to all those having a tough time at the moment, whether health or heart xx

I,ve been a bit more productive today, roasted a chicken, cooked up some fajita filling - so we have a poultry based choice for dinner - chicken salad or fajitas, the other will be for tomorrow. Left over chicken will make singapore fried rice for Tuesday night - we,ll be chickened out by then ;)

I am back to work tomorrow after 10 weeks off post op - I am not looking forward to going back to the eternal politics, but have missed the routine - I am WAY to suited to being a SAHM, but the bank would not be happy :). However, I have had my part time application approved and start that at the begining of September - just hope i,ve made the right descision - time will tell....

    Take care all x

Had a lovely time at the barbecue last night the weather stayed dry all night, it didn't start raining until we got home
The strawberry cheesecake that I made disappeared very quickly :D

Had a nice long lie in and got up at 10am, then we went down to see the outlaws. FIL loves spinach so I had six plants left so he is going to plant them at the top of their garden.

We had gammon, new potatoes and salad for dinner and I made a small cheesecake for dessert for DD because she got very sulky because she wanted me to leave the one I made last night at home:rotfl::rotfl:that is why I had to make one today animated-smileys-rolleyes-10.gif

Lovely to see you posting penpin, sorry to hear that things have not been to good health wise for you, and DD sending you both lots of love and hugs xxx

Welcome to the newbies and returners

    Afternoon all,

Welcome to newbies and welcome back toreturner.

Overcast again here today, sun breaking through now and again, temperature ok so not a bad day really.

Eating everything that comes my way today as will be on a low fibre diet from tomorrow in preparation for colonoscopy on Friday.....white bread, no fruit or veg and no dairy, really looking forward to it....not !

Have some ham left over from Friday, will have it with cauliflower and steamed potatoes, not until around 7 as had a tub of loganberries not so long ago.

Congratulations on the new car Hester, makes a huge difference when the height of a car is comfortable.

Seem very tired today, just going to get dinner and do a bit of knitting before taking an early night.

    Evening all,

Been a mixed weather day here. Managed to get the washing done and dried.
Popped up to see dad for coffee and biccys.

Been looking for a last minute holiday. Not sure if DS2 is going to come with us or not. I don't really think he wants to, but his mate is going on holiday the same time we are looking at going and I don't think DS likes the thought of a couple of weeks without his bestie or us. Only thing is I don't think I can stand a fortnight of DH and DS together. I have suggested looking for a 10/11 night holiday instead.

    Have a good evening.

    Evening ladies

Just back from a day in Yorkshire with mum and dad, my brothers and sister in law, nieces and nephews. A lovely day and I'm shattered
Every body is exhausted after three very busy weeks so we are planning a quiet night in front of the football. I will very probably nod off.
Mum and dad have decided to move back nearer to us, which I'm pleased about, as they get older I would like them to be near by. Now it's just a matter of finding them somewhere as quick as possible.
In other news my youngest has just broken up with his first proper girl friend. He is sad but knows it's the right thing. I'm hoping she accepts it, but I've got a feeling we may have lots of texts and phone calls. We shall see.
Hello to newbies, returners. And hugs for those who need one. Off to look on the local council website. X
