Good morning,
The blasted builders decided to give an hours notice to empty 3 cupboards in the kitchen as then want to partially knock through to the extension. Great, when I have just managed to get Tom to sleep and Frog is demanding attentionthe kitchen is now a tip and will be even worse later on when they knock through. Meh.
I'm wondering when I shall next have a NSD, not today as I am off out this evening (freeeeeeeedooooooom!!!!) for a Chinese dinner with the NCT girlswe shall be giving the massage gift vouchers to the two pregnant girls and I'm desperately trying to sort out some cupcakes in time, I fear we have left it too late

XSpender well done on NSD and good luck with job application.
Icey I am away next week but when I come back, just pack your bags and babies and come over, I should have some sort of kitchen by then and will feed you! And if not, at least you have somewhere to put your feet up and have a chat. xFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Caterina....enjoy your Roman trip...remember me to your aunt, hope that she is in good health, will she go to Sardinia this year
Looking forward to seeing your new kitchen, whenever I become mobile enough to make a trip to London.

Caterina- I enjoy reading your posts and it is day to day life.
My OS day involved making rice pudding for tea - cooking and having roasted veg and chicken breast using up left over veg.
Caught bus to work - cheaper than driving as no parking costs.
Took lunch into work and so a NSD0 -
Don't worry about the repetitive bits. I'm expecting my life to be just like that in a month when I start my OU degree and the weather takes a turn for the worse.
At the moment there's not much OS to report other than sharing rhubarb with my next door neighbour who is almost 91. I do have some winter veg planted though and it's growing quite well.
I had to rescue the stupid cat from over the back fence yesterday as it was claiming it couldn't climb over (saw her do it today) so had to drive round in the car as I knew that if I carried her back and anything scared her I would end up in A&E. I had to knock on a lady's door and say "Excuse me but may I have my cat please, she's stuck in your garden". I also have a set of impressive cuts and bruises from getting impaled on nails on the top of the fence from leaning over trying to get the furry eejit to jump up.
I've been a bit quiet as I've been in one of those "nobody loves me, everybody hates me" moods, for no reason I can see other than the stress of moving and sorting out our new house is finally over. Most things are running smoothly so my mind has had time to process leaving my marital home and living somewhere that my husband never lived with us. I didn't think it would cause any bother, but at some level it obviously has as I've been feeling very tired as well as miserable. I can only write this stuff once I'm over the worst though, so hopefully it's done with.
I think I'm heading for an even OS keel though. Washing tomorrow and aiming to hang it on the washing line instead of throwing it in the drier as the easy option. I will post once it's done to make myself do it0 -
Thank you all for enjoying my mundane day to day writing, it does wonders for the ego! Hehehe
Marie I look forward to seeing you, here or in Dublin, but I doubt that I shall step into Sardinia again. Long story, family stuff etc, won't bore you with it...
Villagelife good for you on NSD, I wish I could say the same.
Cranky40 (((hugs))) it must be hard at so many levels, the move and so much change, take care of yourself. x
Spent the whole day in hospital with my friend, very stressful as she was fretting and talking non stop all the time, I was exhausted but wanted to give her support so could not cut off for a second. While she had the actual op I went to the canteen and ate RUBBISH, then got a series of texts that made me realise that a very bad family situation which I thought resolved is still going on.
Back home, finally, I discovered that the electrician has not been, again.
The stress is becoming unbearable and I need to find ways to cope or I shall have a nervous breakdown.
Pushing on... Hoping to get some sleep tonight with all these thoughts.
Good night. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Caterina what a dreadful time you are having with your tradesmen, I do feel for you. And now there's family worries into the bargain. If I knew your address I would send to you a card I have just made which declares 'Lift your face towards the sun and the shadows will fall behind'.
Tuesday's OS Practically non existent. Went out for a meal with DH. We had a voucher for two half price meals at a local garden centre and very nice it was too. I bought pansies for the garden, not the cheapest there but it was where we were.
Wednesday's OS Not much better except it was an NSD. About the only OS thing was hanging the washing on the line, but I wouldn't dream of doing otherwise while the weather is good. We visited my 94year old aunt. It's a long journey through city streets so quite a petrol guzzler but it is worked into our budget. Some of the pansies got put into the garden and I started lifting some geraniums. I suppose the fact that I overwinter them in my sunny front porch is quite OS as I have a good stock to make a pleasing display which would cost a bomb to buy. I take cuttings too so I get more each year.
Thursday's OS. The plan is to make bread and lots of blackberry and apple pies and maybe some more gardening.

Good morning,
Bella, that's so kind of you, consider your lovely card virtually received, you have no idea how those beautiful words have lifted my heart in a very dark moment. Re: your post above, to me your days sound very OS, half price dinner out, card making, visiting an elderly relative, cooking from scratch...pat yourself on the back!
I won't bore you with the details of the situation but, in a nutshell, my DD has been involved with someone very destructive for years and she's been herself in self-destruct mode. Yesterday it all came to a head and she left London in a hurry with only a handful of her things. I don't know when I shall see her again. In all honesty I am relieved because the chaos and drama that she creates around her are something I can do without.
Ahhhhhhhhh. Breathe........
Life goes on, ho hum, and today is going to see me doing as little as possible until 4 pm when I have to put my woes behind and work with the boys.
Curious about today's Scottish vote, it might be that on Monday I shall be going for a short break abroad! Wondering what the atmosphere in Scotland will be after this momentous event, whatever the results.
I hope you all have a good OS day. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Caterina - Have an amazing time in Italy. Only been once to Rome for 5 days, it was amazing!
Not been around much, work has started on our kitchen, just the wiring so far, so not too much upheaval. Kitchen fitter (he is also making it) says it will be 2 weeks max upheaval when he starts. I do hope so!Loved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!0 -
Sorry to hear of the workshy electrician and your daughters troubles.
OS for me yesterday - made a lovely spicy pasta dish from bits and bobs that needed using up and HM GF garlic bread. Couldn't make the muffins as not enough butter or GF flour mix left:doh:
I made some peanut butter and choc hip cookies instead which only need an egg and sugar and a small fruit crumble using 2 eating apples and a handful of frozen berries.
I did have a NSD until about 9pm when DH bought something for his gaming on line which comes from his personal spends budget but out of the account:mad: I think I will still count it as he is allowed to spend his 'own' money;)
I also started pulling together the bits I need to make DM Christmas gift and may start cutting that out today. Other plans include cleaning the dreaded bathroom, another basket of ironing (last one :j) and think up something for tea. I fancy a cheese omelette tbh.
