Need to change locks

If you're able to replace it with an identical handle and lock (I can't tell from those shots what make and model it is, so I've no idea if it's still being sold), then it's a simple matter of unscrewing the old one and putting the new one in its place.
Otherwise, it'll most likely involve a little bit of woodworking to ensure that a different shaped lock and handle can fit, and then it will involve a professional if you're not confident about doing that yourself.
But do try seeing if you can get an identical lock and handle first. You might find a brand name on the brass plate on the edge of the door.0 -
I'd be surprised if the lock and handle are one piece (looks like a standard euro lock to me), are you sure the barrel isn't a separate item?

Thanks. You have both been very helpful because I know nothing about these things. Does the whole unit need changing? Where the actual key goes in, I think that might be able to be replaced if I take the whole thing out. The 'barrel' ? says sterling:
Just read the markings on the inside:
QUBE

This is the inside:0 -
Its not one piece.. On the thumb turn there will be a little hole with a allen key grub screw, take that out and slide the thumb turn off.
Take the handles off by the 4 screws in each one, take the face plate off the lock, probably 2 screws or grub screws.
There will be a screw behind the face plate, unscrew that right out (its probably about 50mm long (this holds the cylinder in place)
Put your key in the lock and turn it about while pulling at the cylinder, when its lined up it will slide out..
Take what ever needs replacing to a local hardware store and try to get a replacement..

If it works but you want to use different lock and keys you only need to replace the cylinder.. Take it with you as they come in different lengths on each side.. They range from about £4 to £40..

Thanks John.
The thumb turn has no hole, just a little extruding metal oval...0 -
It does not matter what it says on the barrel, any make will work. Take it out as i said, you can leave the handles on..Its the part where the key goes in that needs replacing, this is a separate item from the lock..

The thumb turn needs to come off... The grub screw could of fell out or it needs something like a small screwdriver pressed in to release it..
There will be something on it to take it off.
John..
OOppps I'm still half asleepyou don't need to take it off take the bolt out and turn the thumb turn until its free

Final question guys, do you recommend the anti bump, anti snap euro barrels?0

If its the only lock on your door, and the door is timber i would of thought burglars would try to force the door open with out touching the lock.
