Headaches with Talktalk

Hi, I switched my home phone and broadband to Talktalk two months ago and since then I've had nothing but problems.
My broadband keeps disconnecting and I cannot receive incoming calls. I have phoned them on a few occasions using and they told me my problems will be rectified within 72 hours but they still occur. I am using up my minutes phoning them on my mobile because their 020 number will cost money from my phoneline ( supplied by them!) so contacting them is a no-win situation
I am now so fed up that I am thinking of terminating my contract but still have 10 months to go. Will I be charged an early cancellation fee or will I have an argument that the fee should be waived because they are not providing me with a service I pay for?
Many Thanks.

Yes you will be charged in full for remaining contract .
You could say what the problem is have engineers called what do TT say your problem is .0 -
After the first fault they told me there is a problem with the line and sent me a text a day later informing me it had been fixed. Ditto the 2nd & the 3rd fault.0
-
Then if you move to another ISP you have the same line and the same problems .0
-
You can call them on 0870 444 1820 from your landline, and will not be charged, as long as it is a TalkTalk line.
If your broadband operates at all you can use the online service checking to report a fault
https://my.talktalk.co.uk/servicecentre/
When I have reported faults, they have sent me text messages asking me to text back "FIXED" or "NOT FIXED", which I have done as appropriate.
A fault is a big nuisance, but it can be fixed, I suggest persevering with it, not getting into deeper trouble by switching supplier while you have a dodgy line!0 -
Their help forum can be good http://www.talktalkmembers.com
Make sure when you register you put all the correct contact info etc.0 -

Not necessarily true. The OP said they switched to TT not moved house. I presume the line worked fine with the previous provider. The issue could very well be with the TT LLU equipment installed at the exchange rather than the physical line between the exchange and OPs house.
To the OP, it depends on how far you want to take it and how much trouble you are willing to put up with. If you just cancel then TT will charge an ETC. However if you record all details of phone calls, dates you are without service etc and give TT adequate time to fix the problem before cancelling you would be able to reclaim the ETC via the courts. People have done so successfully before.0 -
hi nmfeb70,
If you register on the TalKTalk Community and post the details of your issue an Online Community Executive will be able to look into this in more detail.
