Contract free iPhone - where to buy ??

Options
I want to buy an iPhone which is not in a contract - I want to just pay the full price for the phone upfront. I can't find anywhere apart from amazon and the apple store which does contract free iPhones. Anyone have any idea ?? X

What is wrong with either the Apple store or Amazon?

Many places sell sim-free and PAYG iPhones. The problem is that very often so called sim-free iPhones lock themselves to the first network they are used at, e.g. all iPhones from CPW.
iPhones from Apple directly are truly sim-free. Don't know about Amazon.
Don't take my word for it, but reportedly, Giffgaff sell iPhones that don't lock themselves.
  • Go to Apple. At the moment they are offering interest free credit if ordered online.

Interest-free credit is hardly a worthwhile reason for going to Apple as the OP obviously has money to buy it without a credit.

However, the warranty is a good reason as for the phones purchased from them directly Apple seem to honor the "EU-wide Consumer Laws".
When buying from other companies enforcing the SoGA after Apple's pathetic "One-Year Limited Warranty" expires can be much more difficult.

    Well, not really.

Three and Giffgaff will sell you the exact same style of permanently unlocked iPhone as Apple.

    Hi,

Use Amazon and Ebay for buying the cheap iphones apart from Apple retail store. Just be careful that on ebay and Amazon check the seller feedback and if it mentions that the iphone is unlocked then there is no reason to doubt it. Even after purchasing your iphone if something goes wrong, you can have your money back. Ebay and amazon are strict to protect their buyers.
