Samsung won't give replacement

Hi everyone,

Been having a lot of issues with Samsung Customer service over the last 2 months trying to get a replacement. all rather tiring

Over 2 months ago my sister's Samsung combination microwave stopped working properly. Bought it from Currys, around £300 (Which is a lot for a microwave!) They got in contact with Samsung and the repair centre collected it to fix the problem. They couldn't fix it. Repair centre returned the microwave, told us to call Samsung for a replacement which we did.

Every time I call Samsung, they say the issue has been escalated, and you will get a replacement, please be patient we will call you back. It has been 2 months. And I'm a bit fed up calling them twice a week. They don't call back.

Seems rather simple that a replacement must be sent out.
Product is under a year old.

I've been calling Currys on 0800 023 4701.
And Samsung on 03307267864

How do i get them to send me a replacement?

thanks!

Your contract is with Currys, not Samsung.

Call Currys and ask them to intervene. Tell them it is their responsibility under the Sales of Goods Act to offer you a remedy and given Samsung's lack of haste that you would like them to act instead.

(Also, I could be wrong, but I thought the Curry's 0800 number was just for their whatever happens customers? I'm not sure what the difference is, if any, but it could be worth calling them on 0344 561 1234 which will be included in any inclusive minutes you have)
  • wow! I got in contact with Currys and told them exactly what you had written. Magic words.

They'll call back with a code that I'll show to Currys instore for a replacement

    thanks for helping!

    No problem! Happy to help!

They usually refer you to the manufacturer because in 99% of cases it's easier for you and cuts out the middle man. And then they stick with that line. A helpful reminder of their obligations helps ;)

    Not hijack someone elses thread?

Open boxes and inspect contents sooner?

How can you prove that the TV came to you in that state? Claim on the home insurance? Or let your home insurance argue it out with the shop?
