Electric wet central heating options?

  • All these calculations confuse me , how much more approx will it cost with electric wet heating v gas pm its a 2 bed bungalow if anyone with ewch can help , i use all gas at the moment but need to go into a bungalow with ewch and im terrified at the extra cost for heating would be , im in a 2 bed terrace now and pay 60elec 80gas pm

    Welcome to the forum.

    £140 a month(every month?) for gas and electricity for a 2 bed terrace is way above average.

    As a rough guide Electric CH is around three times more expensive than gas CH - it depends on the efficiency of the gas boiler.

    Another factor is the standard of insulation of your present and future homes - although it should be said that bungalows can be more expensive to heat than terraced houses.

    This is because you have four outside walls instead of two, being single storey they normally cover a larger area, and the heat from downstairs in a terraced house warms upstairs.
