Google Nexus 7 by Asus - 32GB

  • The major differences between the old model, which I have, and the new one which my partner has are the rear facing camera, the screen quality and the sound quality. If you are planning to listen to music on it or take photographs then go for the new one, but the 32GB version is twice the cost of this one. I use a bluetooth headset and have a camera so I am very happy with the older model.

I've had both the original Nexus 7 (same hardware as the one you mention) and the later version (2013).
I found the original ok if I'd be strict with myself and used it for only a few things at a time. But try multitasking and it just dies on you.
So if you intend to keep facebook running, more than a few tabs in chrome, emails, youtube etc I wouldn't do it.
The 2013 on the other hand manages multitasking quite nicely.

Had the original Nexus 7 since Nov 2012, and it went round the world with us in 2013. Never had a problem with it, and still used daily. Ticks all the boxes for a 7" tablet. Never had a problem with multiple apps open, often have FB, chrome, and a few games open at same time. For under £100 its a very good buy.
