I love the way people think they are "Owners",even in the previous posts the word "owners" is used.....You must realise YOU OWN NOTHING,and should you want to give "Nothing" away it could cost you up to £4000.......Read this slowly....PAY NOTHING,WALK AWAY,DONT LOOK BACK,........Whatever you do DONT THROW GOOD MONEY AFTER BAD............WRITE YOUR MONEY OFF,you will never see it again..............You know this is true but you try to convince yourself it is not......most of the money paid for timeshares is converted into white powder and snorted up someones nose....read the crimeshare pages....if they have not been removed again by these multi-million pound timeshare con-men.
That is the most ridiculous comment.
Q : Are the people who own Disney, Marriott, Sheraton, Hilton all drug runners? Duh!
A: No, They all run successful high end timeshare resorts/clubs enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of happy members.
The complaint isnt about timeshare, its about a change in allocation of units from fixed weeks in specific apartments, to a points based system where availability and location is not guaranteed.
Quality apartments on Costa Del Sol, can rent for a grand a week in high season. That is why many members want to keep their fixed high season weeks.0 -

Not entirely true. There are many people at resorts around the world who are unable to sell or find any other way to free themselves from the ever increasing burden of rocketing maintenance fees.
When we purchased our unit the m/f was £99 per annum and we were told, unfortunately not in writing, that it would only increase in line with RPI. If it had done so the current m/f would be approximately £260 pa, it is actually over £550!
There are many comments about forthcoming EU legislation which will free us all of our timeshares. Even if legislation is brought forward it's likely to take years to come into full operation, as so much EU legislation does. I, for one, am not willing to wait for jam tomorrow.0 -
I owned a gold crown in Tenerife.
Because of splitting up with other half & getting divorced I stopped paying my maintenance fee three years ago.
Luckily they are a small group and I've not heard from them since.
We'd had 15 yrs of good holidays there so think I'd had my money's worth out of it.0 -
There have been many reports in the spanish press regarding timeshare operations and the people that work for them being heavily into cocaine, and the thousands of pounds being paid to salesmen and women going up their noses.
This was heavily reported by the Crimeshare website pages
you only need to search on google,
As for the fact that you own nothing, this is true...
If you think you own the right to use the accomodation, then why do you have to pay around £1000 to exercise your rights to use it.
I myself actualy own Trust House Forte Hotels,i just have to pay the going rate to stay in any of their hotels in the world.Political?....I dont do Political....well,not much!0 -

Similar claims about big pay and substance abuse could just as easily be levelled at certain parts of the UK economy a few years ago!0 -
All timeshare companies,in my opinion are criminals for the way they threaten pensioners in particular (and also every so called member) with legal action/bailiffs/county court judgments should they no longer want to use their timeshare week and would give back the week free of charge.
They were lied to in the first instance and thereby the contract they signed has NO legal value and CANNOT be enforced in the uk.
This forcing you to pay for something you no longer want is soon to be made illegal in the EU......and about time to.Political?....I dont do Political....well,not much!0 -
I don't know if there has been any further progress since this article was published http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/news/article-2720656/Fears-bigger-bills-timeshare-owners-stall-EUs-war-rogue-firms.html but, if not, the EU legislation escape route could still be a long way off.0
