so your tenancy details were passed by the owner to the supplier, also prior to a warrant they always do a pre visit.

Afraid your beef is with the landlord
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Sounds like your landlord and possibly your other house mates are to blame here. Letters will have been sent prior to all of this and if you HAVENT received them then they have been picked up by someone, binned or have been lost in the post.

Losing numerous bills in the post is more or less impossible especially month after month. Have you spoke to your other house mates as to where these letters may be or if they have seen them?

Hope you can get it all sorted but your name is on the billing and so the majority of this is going to have to come out of your pocket unless yoi can agree to something with the others present in the house or your landlord.
  • Luckily after contacting the CAB someone from npower got in touch and we went through it. I'm now going to send the tenancy agreement to them. Just to note i should only have 3 bills as it's quarterly evidently

does your tennancy have the owner pays clause, if not no point. Also still wouldnt change the situation of a valid warrant

That does not address the issue that the court apparently had no record of the case and the 'visitors' refused to show the warrant when asked. I am particularly worried that when the police attended they did not demand to see the warrant: that alone would be grounds for a valid complaint to the IPCC.

OK so. First off. I received letter from Richburns on behalf of npower, saying that they were going to court on the 19th of June to get a warrant. Shocked, I phoned the court to confirm this which they couldn't find anything. ....

Sounds like that is something you need to take up with the court. Sounds like you wanted to defend the application and you were denied. If you can't get any help with the court, then ask your MP to assist you. Perhaps he'll even ask the question to David Cameron on Wednesday?

You can't blame the supplier for this one. It would have been a locksmith acting on the instruction of the bailiff that nPower would have instructed based on the order of the court.
I did phone the local newspaper about today's events but that's it.
    Which paper is that?

Much as I'm not a fan of Npower your post doesn't seem to offer a full / fair picture somehow - the bill clearly wasn't "none existant" for example even if you believe it should not have been addressed to you (alone).

You say that you received a letter telling you of Court application for a warrant. Did you go to Court & contest that warrant?

If not why, you seem to suggest the Court told you there was no listing for your case that day so what did you do then?

They should have shown you the warrant if you asked to see it. (otherwise anyone could just turn up saying they had one when they didn't) but assuming they did it wouldn't have done much to help you.

You seem to think the tennancy agreement says the landlord should pay for all utilities. Unusual these days I would have thought, how much is the rent for the 5 of you?

Now that you have a pre pay meter in what arrangements have been made to pay for the gas / electricity?

So 3 guys knock at your door at 7 o'clock in the morning and demand entry claiming they have an entry warrant, but they won't let you see it, and when you deny entry they start drilling the locks out?

Who else would attempt to phone the local news paper in this instance, rather than dialling 999 and asking for immediate police attendance?

The story we have been given so far is just gibberish. If the OP wants any advice he will have to detail it constructively giving background to the whole thing.
