Advice Needed Please
I am the keeper of a car which was parked in a local supermarket car park which had apparantly overstayed the one hour parking by 13 mins .The store managered was approached by a third party about this ticket who said he could do nothing about this and suggested the car park attendant was approached . the third party spoke to the addentant showing him the ticket who also said he had given 10 mins grace and as it was 13 mins over could not re tract the ticket . how do i as the keeper of this car stand on this ? It states that the charge must be payed in 14 days (£45) or they will contact the DVLC and the cost will double to £90.

Can't keep saying the same thing over and over. That's why Coupon-Mad wrote the NEWBIES thread at the top of the forum.
Please read it first and come back if you have a problem it doesn't answer.0 -

ok have found that now thanks.
So can i just clarafly a few points
I take it i should ignore the parking charge until i recive a NTK and then and only then i should send the appeal letter ?
It is just a work collegue told me to ignore all letters and reply to nothing and deny all knowledge but from reading your newbies post i guess this is not the thing to do .0 -
Don't ignore them anymore - POFA allows these firms to pursue the Registered Keeper - best to deal with them while you have the POPLA options still available. People who advise to ignore are living in the past (or in Northern Ireland/Scotland where you can still ignore them). These firms have 6 years to commence court proceedings so may go quiet for many years, by which time you've forgotten all about it and any useful court evidence is lost.
Use the advice on here and beat them at POPLA (if they don't fold at the first appeal to them).
I take it the supermarket has green signage? - if so get a complaint into their head office about the unreasonable behaviour of their agents, particularly when you were spending money in the store0 -

so if this is in england or wales, will your work colleague also deal with the chase up letters, debt collector letters , and the MCOL if it goes to small claims and the ultimate of a CCJ if you lose in court and dont pay the judgement ? will they advise you on that too, or pay the final bill ?
I think not
I also KNOW for a fact that we know more about this matter then they do , due to their bad advice to you
the only thing to ignore here is your work colleagues advice
yes, wait for the NTK, then send the template appeal in0 -
ok thankyou will wait for NTK as advised then send in template appeal0

good, but dont forget that what you should do now is complain to asda forcefully and with receipts and get a landowner cancellation !
that is the best course of action, same as if that chicken you bought the other day is bad and smelly and well past its sell by date !! ( or that the chocolate bubble you bought was burst when you opened the box

Oh come on Redx, you know as well as I do that Not-very-Smart Parking has never taken anyone to court. By all means tell people about what could happen in theory, but give them ALL the facts not just your one-sided "you must appeal to PoPLA or the sky will fall in" agenda.Je suis Charlie.0
