just:
1k Dry powder.
BSEN
fastened in the car, in a safe and easily accessible place, for myself.
I have bought one from RAC website. It comes with a bracket, its to fit in the car.
I'm sure it will do the job. I don't know how or where to put it as yet. I will see where i think it fits well when it gets here.0 -
In 1994 I bought an 18 month old BMW 325i that had a small fire extinguisher mounted on the lower front of driver's seat frame just above floor level. It protruded in front of the seat but did not interfere with my legs.
It moved to and fro with the seat so it was always easily accessible to any driver.
Thankfully, in 17 years I never had cause to use it. I sold the car in 2011.
Even when it was nearly 20 years old, the pressure gauge was still in the green section.0 -

Looks to me like he did have one - the ground around the bonnet looks like it's full of power. I suspect he made the mistake of opening the bonnet. Most people would be surprised how small a fire has to be able to be contained by a fire extinguisher. You have literally seconds to get a fire under control. Beyond say a minute, I would just get well clear.0 -

Much, much, better than nothing in my experience
The first time (out of two) I put out an engine fire with Halon, the woman who was shouting at me from 6ft away for running a noisy engine outside her house on a Sunday morning never event realised I was putting a fire out! And since Halon makes no mess, I was able to fix the damage and drive home about 20 mins later :rotfl:
(The classic 'backfire through the carb and set fire to the air filter' trick that old V6 fords were so good at.)0 -
