Need a Fire Extinguisher for my car,

Needs to be on a bracket and mounted in an accessible place in my car.

Any idea where i can buy one with a bracket and where in the car is best to fit it ???

'Proper' fire extinguishers for vehicles tend to be AFFF rather than dry powder. Halon is better still, but not legal ;)

NEED, or want? If it's genuinely need, see if there are any other requirements.

Somewhere you can reach it whilst belted in, but not where it'll batter you round the head in a collision.

A two-second google finds plenty of sources.

Maybe in a motorsport situation where the flammable items are predominantly fuel and oil but not for the normal motorist

    Dry powder covers class A, B & C fires whereas foam only covers class A & B

    Class A = ordinary combustibles
    Class B = flammable liquids
    Class C = Electrical.

Ask a taxi driver. They're normally bolted to the floor in front of the drivers seat and are available from most factors/ECP etc.

Well if you don't want it to put a fire out, you can waste £30 in halfords instead. Foam doesn't apply to class C because of the 'electricity plus liquids' aspect - not a concern in a vehicle unless it's a high voltage EEV.

Had fire extinguisher in car and pulled over to help a guy that had small fire starting. Wasn't a lot of help as it was a big fire very quickly!

It may delay the small fire from turning into a big fire for just long enough for occupants to get out.

Its to fill a legal requirement. That's all.

Does the legal requirement place any other restrictions on it (category, position, etc)?
