Will an iPhone from Hong Kong work in the UK?

Prices are substantially cheaper and I've a contact there who can get me one and ship.
Reading around, I'm a bit unclear on whether 4G will work. Does anyone know for sure or have done it?

If the HK version uses band 3 or 7 (at 1800 or 2600 MHz) then it'll probably work. Otherwise it won't.0
