    I would just say "take matters further", no need to mention legal advice or court action. I'd also put an actual date rather than 14 days from today so it sticks in his mind exactly when it needs to be done by. Maybe put something about being able to appreciate that a new baby can be challenging but that you believe you have been patient enough and feel that any further delay is un-acceptable.

    Have done the charges that you both suggested and my OH has gone to buy the stamp so I can get it in the post tonight....feel bad that it I am going to send it but hey!!
    Did call trading standard earlier and they said the bit about the 14 days and if not to contact them again and they 'might' get involved....will keep you posted!!

    No not yet I only managed to get it posted today as DD2 came down with Chicken Pox on Wednesday...two weeks and one day after DD1 got it!! Anyway so he should get Monday....will keep you posted...

    YES!!!! Just got home and the postman has been and he has sent me a cheque!!!! Going to nip to the bank in a minute to pay it in.....better go through!!
    Anyway just wanted to thank you all for your advise...I just would have left it and kept rinigng him occasionally but I def think it was the letter that prompted him to give me the money back...so THANKS A LOT to you all...dont know what I would do with out this site!!!
