Paying too much for water?

Options
We are a family of 2 adults and 2 children under 2. We've had a water meter fitted but we've only been in the property less than a year.

Currently my water bill is coming up £235 for just 2 1/2 months! I can't believe we're using that much water, but basically the bill says we're using 105 cubic m of water in less than 3 months.

I've used the water meter calculator on the consumer council for water website and the ANNUAL water consumption there is less than £300 so I'm wondering what's going on.

Obviously it depends on exactly how much water we're using but does anyone else with a similar family size use this much water? I seem to be paying more for water than I am for gas+electric...

You have control over how much water you use. You can read the meter every day, week or month and know how much you are using and when and you can then determine how to reduce your consumption.
If you just wait for the bill to come in it's too late, you've used it and will have to pay for it.
