EE voicemail on Moto G

Was using an Orange SIM in an unlocked Moto G, at the end of the contract I called for a PAC code and was offered a good sim only EE deal.
Been on EE for a couple of weeks but only just realised that anyone calling me when i'm unavailable gets an "unable to connect your call" message rather than voicemail.
The Call Forwarding settings on my phone all seem to be as they should for EE and EE automated customer services says it is switched on. I assume their tech support only work until 5 as i keep getting disconnected when i select that option.
Any suggestions other than trying tech support tomorrow?

Just found an EE forum post (must have used slightly different search terms than earlier) suggesting using the automated service to switch it off for a bit, then switch it back on. Fingers crossed.0
