vanquis default notice.what's my next step

Hello everyone.
Been reading the forums for awhile and it's helped me sort alot of my previous problems.
A little about my situation.
I have the dreaded vanquis credit card and due to the birth of our first child I'm no longer able to pay the minimum amount off,the payment barely covers the interest as I'm sure your all aware from the masses of threads about this company.
I read through a previous thread that gave the advice to just stop paying and let it default as they were refusing to freeze debt and stop charges but I can no longer find the thread I was referencing from so thought I would join up and ask for the advice I need in person.
I have ignored all correspondence from vanquis and impact collections and today received my default notice.what should i do now? Call vanquis and offer a small amount I can afford or do I wait for it to be passed onto an external dca and then speak to them and offer what I can afford?
Doing my best to keep on top of my debts but this one would go on forever if I kept only paying the minimum and as my partner can no longer work full time I have more going out than coming in so I'm now paying all my other debts but can't manage this one.
So what's the best course of action folks?

First of all, copy you post and re-post it on Debt-Free Wannabe board.

If the debt gets sold to debt collectors, they add their fees to it. I think you have to try to come to some agreement with Vanquis first.
