Hi,
ive eventually signed up to broadband via plus net - but want to get my own wireless router rather than rely on theirs etc.
any suggestions? happy to go via ebuyer or even ebay!!
(seen somebody suggest the netgear DG834PN - what do people think of this one?)
thanks

Hi I haven't used the DG834PN, but have had no problems with other Netgear ADSL routers. Setup is easy too.
I have also set up a couple of Belkin wireless routers for friends and they also work fine.

Hi,
thanks for that - trouble is, there seem to be so many different ones which all seem to do the same thing, i was hoping somebody would recommend a specific make & model (and price!)0 -

I installed this one for a friend. It comes with a usb adapter as well. Not bad for £45....

With a moneysaving hat on I say if your ISP gives you one for free then go for that... unless you want very high-end features or complex setups then they're all much of a muchness.
If it's not free then I'd recommend Linksys range - the WAG200G looks like a good option for £44 here although I've not shopped around to see how competitive that price is.
No experience with Netgear routers, but their switches are reliable for me. Belkin stuff has only ever let me down in the past (wireless networking-wise).0 -
I am currently using the Linksys WAG200G and it works really well. You also get good support via the Linksys website. I would give Belkin the thumbs down. Had one for a while. It was a pain to set up and Belkin support was non-existant. The router eventually died after a couple of years use. Also had a Dlink many years ago. It kept crashing so thumbs down there too.0

I have just had my work give me a Dray Tec is is just rubbish for wireless. Won't hold a connection at all. Never ever had that problem before.
I had trouble with my VOIP phone with my Belkin which was fab for wireless and they got me this one. Pants!!0 -
