It's ok, you haven't had your "light bulb moment" yet. People haven't judged you, they have tried to help you but I am not sure what you wanted to be told and therefore you are disappointed.

It is very sad that the thread has upset you but I think you have a lot of thinking to do.

At the end of your first post you mentioned judgements and yet no one has judged you at all. We all come on here and are very honest about our situations - things are not easy, life is not easy but many, many people have been in your situation before and were simply trying to help you.

Agree with On my way - you haven't truly had your LBM.

    I wish you luck.

I did try to explain this to the OP in post #19.

It can be difficult to accept your finances are in a mess, I know it took me years to have my "LBM".
I think everyone has only tried to see where you can make savings OP, and its always difficult to judge the tone of questions on an internet forum, but sometimes tough questions need to be asked.
I don't think anyone has set out to judge you, most of the people who post on here, are, or have been, just where you are now.

Define Light Bulb Moment for a debtor?

I would have classed the OPs fretting, totting up income and expenditure and worrying about how she will cope when her employment income reduces as an LBM?

Are you challenging this as a LBM failure because a lot of the advice was seen as irrelevant by the OP or because she seemed to put her store in some kind of debt write off (bankruptcy) which wasn't embraced by other posters as the primary solution?

people really are judgmental on here... If I was spending money on all the above I would obviously stop that before asking for debt help.

They are trying to work out where your money is going.

And you'd be surprised at the people who wouldn't stop spending before they asked.

  • Only in the spirit of the title, I'm finding herbal tea's really helpful at the mo - the clipper range is good esp their 'snore and peace' tea, I don't normally drink these but find it works that and writing stuff down before sleeping

She seems to be dismissing every piece of advice or request for information as "judgemental".

I really hope she manages to get sorted :(
