Reasonable grounds for a divorce

The gov.uk site mentions "refusing to pay for housekeeping" as one of the valid grounds for a divorce. Seriously? Would you expect every employed partner contributing towards the house chores and why?
Perhaps you would expect them to contribute to the holiday budget too?

I guess it depends on the circumstances.
I had my ex husbands smoking on my petition.
It sounds petty, and that it should have been his choice - but he smoked inconsiderately and around my children, in our house and car, and wouldn't moderate or withold from it (it was many years ago, just as it began to increase in awareness).
So I guess it depends on the degree of 'refusal' to contribute.0 -
Please do not pollute my OP. My question was specifically about refusing to pay for housekeeping and not smoking.0

being constantly impolite is also grounds for divorce.

Yeah, housekeeping means food/cleaning materials ... house stuff. Money to run a house, keeping house .... money for it.0

It's not a case of 2 friends sharing a house where both must share the cost.
Do you think absolutely every family where both partners work should have both partners contribute towards rent/mortgage, food and cleaning? Why?0 -
If you're going to be p!ssy about people not replying to your OP properly then at least have the decency to write an OP that makes sense. What does 'Would you expect every employed partner contributing towards the house chores?' even mean?
Just about anything can be proper grounds for divorce, I've seen a petition where the wife leaving her underwear on the floor was cited.0 -

What would you think of an answer "I make much less than you so I'm not going to share and I'm going to spend what I earn on myself, thus you don't have to be giving me my pocket money"?0 -

Whatever a couple agrees between themselves is fine. But if one partner disagrees then not paying your way is grounds for divorce. It doesn't mean you HAVE to get divorced if you don't.0 -
