parking fine UKCPS

Hi, just after some help
my partner went for something to eat at a pub and parked in a small car park at the back thinking it belonged to the pub. when she returned to our car there was a ticket on the window screen from uk cps. she was the only car with one on. cant make out the writing on the ticket that they have written as its transferred poorly, but looks like the ticket is for 'without a valid permit or authority'. whats the best thing to do?
thanks in advance for any replies
Ben

here, I have changed the title as you used the f-word

parking charge notice (speculative invoice) from UKCPS

Now please read the NEWBIES sticky thread at the top of this forum. It tells you everything you need to know

It can take a few reads to get your head around and your plan to sit down tonight and read it through thoroughly is the best way to approach it.

Take a look at the flowchart (printing it off to have to hand while you read the rest of the advice can also be useful)

You have received a windscreen ticket (classed as a notice to driver, NtD) so look out for the information about waiting for the postal notice to arrive (classed as the notice to keeper, NtK) and the template 1st appeal to send once the NtK has been received.

of course its confusing, thats why all the information is in the one thread so that people can read it over and over again until the penny drops, depending on the circumstances

the first penny to drop is the f word (fine) - because it isnt one

once you understand that these are invoices and then question their validity, that is when you start to realise what they are and how to challenge them

LOL! Yes there are lots of words to read but this isn't difficult, look. This poster beat UKCPS at first appeal (no need for POPLA) by using the NEWBIES thread template first appeal:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4938659

so did this person, same immediate cancellation by UKPCS again who can't be bothered to argue with us:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5009860

One pre-written appeal to copy and paste and post to UKCPS as soon as you receive the first letter...difficult? Nope. Please do post a reply when you win, it helps other newbies!

  • hi, just letting you know I followed the newbie thread template and I won! have just had another though the door :-( (didn't get pcn on the windowscreen) from a company called excel parking. they have a pic of me entering the carpark and a pick leaving the car park and say I parked without displaying a valid ticket. I know for a fact I had a ticket stuck to the window screen. im planning to do the same with this one

Good stuff, it was easy and it will be similar with Excel although they will take it to POPLA.
