Have read of the accepting as low as 20% on a 6000 debt, I wonder does it matter on the total amount they are writing off rather than looking at the percentage0

It depends on numerous factors :
The DCA involved, some more amenable than others,
If there are paperwork/enforceability issues,
Age and amount of debt,
Your personal circumstances,
If the DCA involved has had a profitable month or not,
If the bloke/lady making decisions that morning, had a row with there partner before coming to work,
There are endless factors involved, general advise is to start low, and work up.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. My A and L credit card that went to MBNA has no credit agreement to be seen. Not even a badly reconstituted one.
Couple of years earlier than yours. Worth asking for though.:beer:0 -

Yes, re-constituted will be acceptable, no signature required either, but they still need to send you something that resembles a credit agreement.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
