As title.
Thanks to Capita I didn't get PIP. I get ESA support group, now the PIP have decided there's nothing wrong with me will I lose my ESA?
Thanks

The criteria for both benefits is different. You receive ESA because it's been deemed that you're unfit for work.

I hope you get your PIP sorted.

I am yes. I have just realised that while they were so busy denying that there was any medical diagnosis for my back pain, they completely ignored my consultants details I clearly put on the form and have not even contacted him!
Thanks for your help. My doctor has firmly stated on more than one occasion she believes I'm not fit for any form of work so hopefully that will be enough for now. The mere mention of having to claim JSA sends me into a rage so there is no way I could work or claim JSA right now hence the reason I'm so worried about my ESA :(

Hi, there is the risk that the DWP may well use the PIP assessment result to instigate a review of your ESA. Whilst both benefits are indeed different, there are quite a few similarities that make up both ESA and PIP.

Oh that's just fantastic. I'm going to ring the DWP first thing Monday as the thought of being forced into a Job I cannot do has just given me another panic attack :( I had a sneaking suspicion :(

eerrr sorry but you should get your facts right before stating that!! Many times on this site it has been mentioned that the DWP have used an assessment prepared for ESA which turned out to be a failure, in an appeal against DLA refusal. It has also been said many times that a poor ESA assessment could and has triggered a DLA review.

OP I would wait until they contact you about any review of DLA.

The DWP may not link the two and your telephone call could cause a review etc and make the matter worse.

The old adage if it aint broke don't fix it springs to mind.

Appeal your ESA and leave your DLA as is until such a time a review is sent or you are asked to apply for PIP if applicable.

From reading the OPs posts, they don't claim DLA and put in an application for PIP. They've been denied PIP.

    Indie Kid is correct.
I claim ESA conts and have been placed in the Support Group however from memory there were several questions asked in the ESA form that were not asked in the PIP. One of which I don't wish to go into but I suspect was something to do with why I got placed in Support Group. My ESA was awarded without a medical. I have never claimed DLA but am going to appeal my PIP decision.
My next payment of ESA is on Thursday. I currently have about £5 to my name and if it doesn't go in I'm in real trouble. I have to ring DWP tomorrow anyway to tell them I intend to appeal my PIP decision so I might ask them then- I don't just want a shock on Thursday morning if I find an empty bank account!
