why do some travellers ignore liwuid restrictions?

There are lots of people that continue to ignore it even though it has been in effect for a long time. So annoying as it causes delays for everyone else!0

I haven't flown during those years - but am generally aware there are restrictions.
I am flying in October and have my eTicket but the agent has not passed to me details of the restrictions (nor clear information about cabin and hold luggage requirements). Perhaps some travellers have an agent like the one used for my future travel.0 -
When it comes to toiletries, I don't understand why people don't just buy things like bodywash, shampoo, conditioner etc when you get to your destination, thats what I do. No liquids on me at all, nothing to leak in my suitcase and more room in my suitcase.
I have been able to take things like lipgloss on with me in my handbag every time though.0 -

Their argument was that it wasn't a liquid like water, so it didn't count !
They hadn't put it into their luggage due to its value and fragility.
The TSA would have been enjoying Maple syrup on their waffles for weeks.
I,m guilty of something similar. Got what seemed to be a tiny jar of honey from crete. It was a tourist gift so in a fancy tin and box. It never occurred to me about the liquid limit. I just put it in my hand luggage. Turns out it was 200 ml and was confiscated. Security guy would have had that on his breakfast toast the next day.

You haven't been to Rhodes then? I ran out of toothpaste and went to a pharmacy and cheapest tube was and bought was €1.80 -,£1.50. Some places charge double that and saw some Radox shower gel for €5.30 - £4.25!!
I put all my toiletries in fruit n veg bags you get in supermarkets individually and then put bagged toiletries into a carrier bag. No damage and keep the small toiletry bottles I received as presents and decant the products into there. Use screwcaps as less likely to burst. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I bet none of the security staff have bought any toiletries since the restrictions. They tell us confiscated items get destroyed. I somehow doubt this! If anything expensive or rare, they probably do a raffle for it.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Actually I have! I've been to Lindos and found most toiletries were in the are of €2 each. I do tend to take my own toothpaste in my suitcase as its small so des't take up room though.0 -

It shouldn't be up to the agent to supply you with information on restrictions, it is quite simple to find out that information, by pressing a few keys on your keyboard.
You know which airline you are flying with and the luggage amount you have paid for, so just go onto the airlines site to get the required information. You then go onto the airports site and check what restrictions they have in place.
Really, people should stop blaming other people for their ignorance. If you are flying, it should be up to you to check everything out yourself.0
