Which network has cheapest data pricing?
I am trying to find the best network for data costs. This will be on a Monthly price plan. I have searched the main operator web sites and found the following. Can anyone say if this correct?
Vodafone
0.2p per KB upto £1 a day for 0.5MB (upto 15Mb per day)
Addon: £7.50 per month for 120MB in month
(£2 per MB for VOIP services, messenger, file sharing, etc)
T-Mobile
0.73p per KB upto £1 max in a day (upto 40MB per day)
Addon: £7.50 per month for unlimited browsing and email
O2
£2.35 per MB
I am not sure this is correct as I couldn't find the prices on the O2 website!
Orange
£1.50 max daily charge
Three
£2 per 1MB
Addon: £2.50 for 10MB
Addon: £5 per month for unlimited internet (1GB max)

I'm on Three and have the unlimited internet. They say that it's 1GB fair use - I guess my use has been fair but it's also been well and truly over every month since I got it (back in Dec.) Three don't seem to mind.0

Ive been looking baout too for good data... I believe the best, is TMobile, who for £7.50 per month, allow upto 1gb of handset based internet traffic, which is far more than any other...
For £12.50 they offer upto 3gb which will also allow you to connect a laptop to your mobile and surf the web that way.

By far the cheapest, and best value of all networks....I'm on Three and have the unlimited internet. They say that it's 1GB fair use - I guess my use has been fair but it's also been well and truly over every month since I got it (back in Dec.) Three don't seem to mind.
Was with 3 a couple of years ago, and swore I would not return!! More than 1gb a month on your phone...??? Is that purely handset access, or you got a pc rigged up to it??0 -
I'd have thought Three's £5 p/m Xseries deal works out better than T-Mobile's £7.50. Both mention a gig and both mention handset only. The only difference is T-Mobile's offer is 50% more expensive.
I happen to live in a town where Three's reception is great and is more reliable than what friends and family have on rival networks. I guess if Three were as bad as they used to be (or presumably are in other areas) then it wouldn't probably seem to be such a good deal!
My usage? Way more than 1 gig a month and all racked up on the handset. It's surprisingly easy to do once you start downloading podcasts directly to the phone, listen to high quality streaming radio, use a full browser, RSS, Yahoo Go, YouTube Mobile, Smart2Go maps, Mobile GMaps etc.
That doesn't even include my Orb and Slingplayer usage. If you included that as well (and fortunately Three don't, it's seperately tallied on the Gold add-on) then it's easily a few gig a month!*
*But that's a tenner p/m for Gold, whereas Silver is just a fiver.0 -

I really don't like the "Handset only" bit, as I want to use data with my PDA via bluetooth connection to phone.
What is the cheapest option for this?0 -
I've read on other forums that they have used 3's xseries with their laptops, even though its against the t+c's I guess 3 don't mind as long as you don't use it excessively.SLC: £13000+
Quidco: £131.24 (paid) + £0 (validated) = £131.24
Valued Opinions: £75 (paid) + £52.30 (received) + £4.50 (pending) = £131.80
StudentPanel: £250 -

For contracts t-Mobile would seem to be the best as you can get 12 months cashback on a 12 months contract with 1GB per month web usage included, and T-Mobile confirmed to me that you can use your laptop - just use the phone as a modem. Use via Bluetooth and it's actually OK - I used to do this on Orange when I was with them.
H.Know me for who I am, not for who I say I am.0 -
i beg you guys for the link please :rolleyes:0
